University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB)

The University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB) is a prominent public research university located in Laguna, about 65 kilometers southeast of Manila. It has its origins in the UP College of Agriculture, founded in 1909 to enhance agricultural education and research in the Philippines. UPLB was officially established in 1972 when UPCA merged with four other units from Los Baños and Diliman, expanding its academic and research capabilities. The university is well-regarded for its programs in agriculture, forestry, environmental science, and development studies, among others.

College of Economics and Management

The College of Economics and Management (CEM) at UPLB focuses on research and extension (R&E) activities in areas like agricultural economics, applied economics, and agribusiness management. Its initiatives aim to promote efficient economic activities, enhance income distribution, protect the environment, and manage natural resources effectively. 

College of Human Ecology 

The College of Human Ecology (CHE) at UPLB employs interdisciplinary and holistic approaches to explore human-environment interactions. Its vision is to foster human-centered, self-reliant, and ecologically stable communities by addressing essential needs, resource management, environmental stability, and social service delivery at both family and community levels in the Philippines and Asia.
