The IVC Project has three main responses that will guide gender and related inclusion dimensions, namely:
1. Gender equity, and social inclusion (GESI) is everybody’s business: The intention is for gender, and social inclusion to be pro-actively thought about and integrated into all IVC Project activities and not to be treated as a separate issue. A deliberate non-discriminatory approach will be taken. All members of the IVC team will complete GESI training. All IVC team will have knowledge of the issues, and be advocates for inclusion, able to identify how and when to call on specific gender expertise.
2. Context-specific analyses and approaches: Effective efforts to create gender inclusion will be based on understanding of the specific context and the challenges for women and othermarginalised groups, in order to mainstream gender into the activities and develop targeted interventions.
3. Build on strengths and collaborations: IVC Project will build on existing strengths and knowledge, promote linkages and collaboration within research institutions, private sector and organisations promoting women’s economic empowerment, and real inclusion.
